My name is John Monk. I earn a living in the oil industry as an independent Feasibility/Project Management Consultant to oil refineries and other oil industries in Southern African, East Africa and some parts of Asia. We are based in Johannesburg RSA. Our mandate includes identifying specific licensed crude oil export/ marketing firms and recommending these firms to the oil refineries for supply of crude oil to the refineries. On my desk is a mandate from one the refineries to arrange for crude oil purchase from Libya for up to 2,000,000 barrels on monthly bases for 12 calendar months. The essence of my reaching out to you is the fact that am in the process of building a middle man structure to mediate between the 2 parties involved before the contract is signed. You may be wondering why I cannot do it by myself right? The honest fact is that as a consultant to these oil refineries, we are not allowed to act as suppliers of crude oil to them as well, hence the reason I need a trustworthy person outside my work circle in order to maintain a discreet profile. I wish to extend this partnership to you my friend to build a middle man structure with you, while I work from the back to guide you. Our commission/brokerage as middle persons is between $2 - $3 per barrel as case may be. So if the target of 2M barrels is met monthly we stand to share $4M - $6M every month for a span of 12 months with possible extension. Worry less about the speedy sales as I have contacts within oil producing country's top officials for license of crude oil export/lifting to any firm I so present for this business. Therefore if you can be able to handle this transaction with honesty and integrity, you should come back to me immediately for more details. Your urgent response is highly needed Regards. As this option is used to specify custom paths to update databases on our local mirror, updates fail after upgrading from version 0.101.4. Let me give you an example. Instead of downloading the database from `http://update.dfn-cert.de/av-sigs/clamav/db/main.cvd` freshclam will try `https://update.dfn-cert.de/main.cvd` and fail. Looking at the code I figured out that freshclam can be motivated to honour the values in DatabaseCustomURL options. Once I specified the executable parameter `--update-db=custom` freshclam happily updated the databases from the custom paths. Now I'm wondering: is my site incorrectly specifying custom database paths using `DatabaseCustomURL` and the breakage on update has been intentionally introduced by upstream? If so, what would be the correct way to introduce custom paths? Or did I indeed find a bug? If so, what would be the correct > way to introduce custom paths? It sounds like you want to use PrivateMirror. But then you don't have same path so it probably won't work. I don't know. You have DatabaseMirror = "update.dfn-cert.de" set which means it will look for update.dfn-cert.de/main.cvd update.dfn-cert.de/daily.cvd so it works as expected so far. You have also set DatabaseCustomURL so it should look additionally for update.dfn-cert.de/av-sigs/clamav/db/main.cvd Now the fact that it does not might have something to do with the part that it fails while looking for update.dfn-cert.de/main.cvd. But from looking at the code (in this heat) it should do so. By using "--update-db=custom" then you limit the download to the custom URL only which is what you specify with DatabaseCustomURL. This skips the download of main/daily/bytecode. > Or did I indeed find a bug? Maybe something that was not planned. It might be possible that your custom URL contained the 'main.cvd' file which then overwrote the 'main.cvd' from the official mirror. Now it does it no longer and would in your case download the main.cvd twice. If you could verify the part with PrivateMirror then I/you could open a bug with upstream asking what the recommended way is to use a private mirror with a different hierarchy. This is what you intend to do I guess. > Best regards, > > Stephan Jänecke Sebastian From lmscarrmanil at gmail.com Sat Aug 15 10:30:31 2020 From: lmscarrmanil at gmail.com (JANETH JOHNSON) Date: Sat, 15 Aug 2020 02:30:31 -0700 Subject: [Pkg-clamav-devel] Von Frau Janeth Johnson bis zu meinem lieben Christus. Sebastian From l.arzeni at gmail.com Thu Aug 20 19:28:28 2020 From: l.arzeni at gmail.com (Luca Arzeni) Date: Thu, 20 Aug 2020 20:28:28 +0200 Subject: [Pkg-clamav-devel] Bug#904013: clamav-freshclam: it breaks also logcheck integration References: <153190382858.23819.2259610367668024213.reportbug@bobek.localdomain> Message-ID: <159794810876.15954.15238803425988875645.reportbug@mail.amadego.com> Package: clamav-freshclam Version: 0.102.4+dfsg-0+deb10u1 Followup-For: Bug #904013 Dear Maintainer, logging the timestamp inside the message break also the logcheck rules. For example the first logcheck (ignore.d.server) rule states: ^\w{3} [ :0-9]{11} [._[:alnum:]-]+ freshclam\[[0-9]+\]: ClamAV update process started at .*$ But the message written in the logs is: Aug 20 18:26:53 mail freshclam[15525]: Thu Aug 20 18:26:53 2020 -> ClamAV update process started at Thu Aug 20 18:26:53 2020 As you can see, the timestamp written after the process id is NOT matched by the logcheck rule. You can solve the issue by altering all the rules, inserting a regexp to match the timestamp as follows: ^\w{3} [ :0-9]{11} [._[:alnum:]-]+ freshclam\[[0-9]+\]: \w{3} \w{3} [ :0-9]{16} -> ClamAV update process started at .*$ But the best thing, imho is to avoid printing the timestamp inside the message, since rsyslog already writes the timestamp at the beginning of the log record. Message-ID: <159842713146.25881.13338582532670601280.reportbug@gintonic.woody.ch> Package: clamav-daemon Version: 0.102.4+dfsg-0+deb10u1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer clamd occasionaly runs in an out of memory situation and is killed on my system. So it would be nice to have it automatically restarted. With Bugfix: #250008 the init file has been adapted for clamd to run under 'daemon' supervision. The README.Debian also describes this fact. Unfortunately I didn't manage to get clamd started under daemon supervision. I fear that this is due that since then, debian moved to systemd and the .service file is starting clamd directly. Please advise how the systemd config has to be changed to achieve the same result. I believe systemd can directly supervise a daemon, but I don't know where to find that switch. -Benoit- -- Package-specific info: --- configuration --- Checking configuration files in /etc/clamav
