The backports repository of Debian stable only accepts versions of
software currently in Debian Testing so we do not have a version
choice.

I interpret your email as asking for a newer CMake to appear in the
stable-backports repository. I am forwarding your email to Debian's
current CMake maintainers since they are most likely to help with the
backport work.
