Thanks Rhonda for the report :)
Edited version below for some typos and an attempt at fixing grammar.
If we have any doubt with this we can ask for review

Xiphos is Bible study software for GNOME. It facilitates[1] digital
text reading
with bookmarks, full text search and parallel view of alternative or
translated
versions of the same text.
.
In addition it allows you to keep personal per-verse notes. For
larger commentaries
there is also a dedicated rich-text study pad. The personal
commentary supports spell
checking and can also be searched.
.
Xiphos uses digital texts distributed as modules[2] from the SWORD Project. It
supports Sword Bible, Commentary, Lexica and General Book modules. It has
a built-in facility to browse remote repositories of freely
distributed modules and
install them.
.
Other software that uses SWORD Project modules are: BibleTime, BibleMemorizer
and Bibledit.
HTH,
Daniel
[1] facilitates - is that the best word there?
[2]I dont think the word 'module' is user friendly and doesn't look
easily translatable. The BibleTime folks are using 'work' but I can't
decide what is best.
