I already had some email dialogue with Refdoc based on this email.
Should we forward that whole dialogue (probably 4 more email messages or
so) here??

I am not really sure how wise it is to have the Sword packaging team
communicate here, and the Sword developers using their own sword-devel
list; I think the reason for some of the current frustrations Refdoc
expressed is precisely that the two communities have been seen as being
very separate, rather than working together.

Unless the email volume becomes truly overwhelming, it might be worth
considering asking packagers to join the sword-devel list instead, and
working there as part of that team. Doing so would expose the
developers to the needs of packagers, and also make for (hopefully)
useful interaction and exchange of ideas between the development team
and the packaging team as things move forward.

What do others think?

Jonathan (another Ubuntu-using MOTU-wannabe)
