Already under way, I started on that last night.  Most are already in
1.5.11 or no longer needed, as far as I can see.  1.5.11 will build with
only a small 02_libver.diff to use -version-info 7 (and would probably
buld without even that, I just haven't tried it!).

I hope to post more details later today on this... the huge 13000 line
03_clucene.diff I am definitely glad to see go :)

Is there a somewhat standard set of tests for a newly built libsword7
(or whateve we call it!) library (other than building the big GUI apps
against it and running them -- I'm hoping for something more automated)?

Is there a cli app that exercises every library function, for example?
diatheke uses some, but not all, of them, from what I can see.
