Dear all

Following the recent announcement (see forwarded message). A few things will need to be done

GnomeSword should become transitional package, which can be safely removed.

Transitional package should depend on the new Xiphos package.

I'm still working on the GnomeSword package so I will change it's name to Xiphos.

Someone else can look into creating transitional one.

As discussed last week, the name change is going forward.  I'm sure
everyone saw a couple comments made both for and against the new name;
those against were generally ideas already considered by the smaller
committee previously occupied with the problem.  Since there were no
showstoppers, we are moving ahead.

We are at an inconvenient intermediate point: SourceForge has a problem
where their data center migration plan is in progress, and the piece of
their infrastructure which would support project removal and purge is
not available.  Because of this, and although we have the agreement of
the creator of the previous "xiphos" project, we cannot actually claim
the SF name "xiphos" right now.  Nonetheless, its creator has handed it
over to us, and some minimal content is being placed there, in order
that we be able to prepare our move to it.  All content description at
gnomesword.sf.net and sourceforge.net/projects/gnomesword is being
changed to reflect the new name.  Mostly what remains still using the
gnomesword name is actual web URLs, purely out of necessity while we are
in this transition period.

Please note: The identifying Subject: content e.g. GnomeSword-users,
will be changing soon, to Xiphos-users and so forth.
