OK.  Phew, there's a lot of discussion there!

My understanding of it: Until policy is clarified, there are at least
two reasonable ways to interpret it (use the version from
debian/changelog, and use the latest version determined by uscan).
There is still no consensus on which way is "correct".

That means my original way is fine for now, no change needed.  Right?
