Dear all,

there is now a stream of bug reports about segfaults cause by sword.

In one of the bug reports it was suspected that abi is incompatible.

I did analysis on rebuilds of 1.6.1 and 1.6.2 debian packaging and run
abi-compliance-checker [1] tool
against the two builds.

The full results are here:

http://pkg-crosswire.alioth.debian.org/sword/1.6.1_to_1.6.2/abi_compat_report.html

The verdict is incompatible:
1 interface withdrawn
3 The relative position of virtual method has changed
2 changes of type size

As per policy, this means that in Debian we need to do soname bump to
9 or to 1.6.2
