[Pkg-crosswire-devel] Bug#769940: xiphos: Preferences doesn't work and cannot download modules

One, when Preferences is clicked on the Preferences window never opens.  

Two, when attempting to download modules from ftp.crosswire.org it stalls out for a few minutes and then reports that the site cannot be reached.  I'm guessing the the built-in ability to use the system ftp client is not working.
