Thank you for the update.

Yes, the issue you mentioned is still there.
The bug that will address this issue is still open upstream.

In the meantime the tarball used to create the newest Bibledit for Debian
was released here publicly:

https://github.com/bibledit/debian/releases/

The bug on Debian about the packaging is not critical. The severity of this
bug is set to "normal". There's a good number of outstanding issues on the
Bibledit source that also have a normal severity. So the Debian bug just
will have to wait till upstream has the time to attend to it. There's no
need to put the Debian bug at the front of the queue.

Addressing this Debian bug runs via the Bibledit issues list on GitHub.

Many issues were created before the Debian bug was opened. These will be
resolved by upstream first, following the waiting queue.
