Package: cryptsetup
Version: 2:1.0.2+1.0.3-rc2-1
Severity: normal

Action description:

root at cajon:~# cryptsetup -y create rootfs /dev/sda1
    Enter passphrase:
    Verify passphrase:
    Command failed: Invalid argument

THe problem here is that the device /dev/sda1 is already mounted.
However the erro rmessage is cryptic and doe snot suggest what is
the possible problem.

SUGGESTION

Offer better diagnostic message with possible cause. The code
can very well detect if the device is already mounted and suggest
unmounting it.
