upstream is supporting --key-file=- and explicitely mentions 
that in the manpage.

i can of course do that, but nothing in the cryptsetup docs hinted to
me that i would *have* to!

if you think upstream won't be happy to use timed_read() in the 
keyfile situation, please amend the documentation to tell people that
timeouts don't work with keyfile/keyscript.
