Well, it's up to you. As you say, I have the solution for my problem ;-) but I
expected this solution to be potentially useful for people who will for sure
be hit by the same problem, that's the reason why I sent you my patch.
Or course you may prefer wait until a fix is made to the kernel or udev, but
we don't know when this will be done and when it will propagate to main
distros... Meanwhile, my patch can be useful and is no big deal applying to
an existing shell script.
But again that's up to you.
As a side note, I have written a script that I called "Luksfile for dummies"
(LFD) that allows creating, mounting, unmounting LUKS-encrypted containers
with a single, simple command, making the use of LUKS encryption somewhat
easier for beginners. I have described this script in the LUKS wiki at
http://www.saout.de/tikiwiki/tiki-index.php?page=LUKS
You might want to take a look at it ; feel free to integrate it in the
cryptsetup package if you happen to like it ;-)
