[pkg-cryptsetup-devel] Bug#535801: cryptsetup: root-device is changed wrongly

Package: cryptsetup
Version: 2:1.0.7~rc1-1
Severity: normal

I can confirm that the same happened to me also, leaving my system unbootable.
As suggested by Mourad De Clerck, removing the following line from /usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/local-top/cryptroot solved the issue :

echo "ROOT=$NEWROOT" >> /conf/param.conf

my setup here :

/dev/sdb1 ntfs
/dev/sdb2 ext3 /boot
/dev/sdb3 luks with lvm inside it (/dev/mapper/wd_usb)
/dev/mapper/wd_usb-root ext3 /
/dev/mapper/wd_usb-swap swap
/dev/mapper/wd_usb-home ext3 /home

And the behavior is the same as described by others, trying to mount the wd_usb-swap as /root, which is clearly wrong.

Let me know if there's anything that I can provide to help with this issue.

Cheers,

Theo
