Package: cryptsetup
Version: 2:1.1.0~rc2-1
Severity: normal
Hi,
I have an external usb hard drive, with a luks encrypted vfat partition.
To mount the drive I use
# cryptsetup luksOpen /dev/sdb2 crypto
<insert password>
# mount /dev/mapper/crypto /mnt/crypto
I now (accidentally) pull the usb plug, so the physical /dev/sdb2 is
gone
The drive is still shown as mounted, but I can run
# umount /mnt/crypto
and the mount is gone.
The dm device is still there, though
# ls -al /dev/mapper/crypto
brw-rw---- 1 root disk 254, 0 5. Nov 16:19 /dev/mapper/crypto
And a luksClose fails
# cryptsetup luksClose /dev/mapper/crypto
Device (null) doesn't exist or access denied.
