are you still able to reproduce the bug? did you try to recreate the
2.6.30-2 initramfs in the meantime: 'update-initramfs -u -k 2.6.30-2'

did you give other kernels a try? this seems like an issue with your
initramfs to me. the cryptsetup unlocking seems to work, but the volume
group cannot be found and thus the root filesystem is not available.

please tell me whether you still suffer from this problem, before I put
more effort into debugging it. i believe that it is related to a config
problem on your side.
