this must be due to changes in cryptsetup upstream, as nothing relevant
was changed in the initscripts with this update. i guess that it's
related to one of these two changes:

do you still know which cryptsetup version was used to set up your
environment? and do you use a keyscript like passdev? in this case i
guess that you set up the system with a version of cryptsetup which had
a regression and thus behaved other than expected with --key-file=-
given as argument.

please provide your exact /etc/crypttab and custom keyscripts if any.
additionally some history would be useful. how did you set up the
system, which command-line options where given to luksFormat, etc.
