[pkg-cryptsetup-devel] Bug#774301: linux-image-3.16.0-4-amd64: Wrong keyboard layout at boot when using luks encrypted filesystem
Thomas Balthazar

Fri Jan 2 03:58:10 UTC 2015
Package: src:linux
Version: 3.16.7-ckt2-1
Severity: important
Dear Maintainer,
* What led up to the situation?
I'm using a ThinkPad T440s with belgian azerty built-in keyboard.
I have a luks encrypted file system. At boot, the prompt asks me for my
password to decrypt the file system.
With kernel 3.16.3-2 (2014-09-20), the prompt was expecting me to type
my password on my azerty keyboard, the azerty way. (which is what I
expect too)
Since my system was upgraded to kernel 3.16.7-ckt2-1 (2014-12-08), the
prompt is expecting me to type my password in a qwerty way.
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
At boot, the system shows the password prompt to decrypt my luks
encrypted filesystem. I typed my password as usual, on my Azerty
keyboard.
* What was the outcome of this action?
The system didn't accept my password. I then tried to type my password
as if I were typing on a Qwerty keyboard and it worked.
* What outcome did you expect instead?
The system should have accepted my password as typed on my Azerty
keyboard, as it always did before the update.
