Package: cryptsetup
Version: 2:1.6.6-5
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
* What led up to the situation?
>From time to time, my unlocked cryptsetup enabled USB disk becomes locked,
without any apparent reason. When I try to unlock it again, after I type
my passport, following error message appears and device cannot be unlocked.
When device is locked, cryptsetup enabled device disappears among drivers
list in File Manager. Instead, locked USB drive appears.
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
I cannot say any particular reason. Sometimes I leave the computer idle
for an hour and this error does not appear. Sometimes I work busily and
suddenly notice that my drive is inaccessible.
* What was the outcome of this action?
Following error message appears:
Error unlocking /dev/sdf1:
Command-line `cryptsetup luksOpen "/dev/sdf1"
"luks-xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx"
' exited with non-zero exit status 5:
Device luks-xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx already exists.
* What outcome did you expect instead?
I expect my device does not suddenly become locked in the first place.
Secondly, if it is locked, I expect it to be unlocked when I type
the passphrase correctly.
