I apologize for taking so long to reply, the last weeks were rather
busy for me.

Similiar, but not as sophisticated as Christop's setup.

I have in the mean time seen the initramfs option in /etc/crypttab which
may solve my entire issue elegantly without having to rely on your
internal interfaces. For the time being, you can ignore my wishes until
I have found out whether this will help me at all.

Thanks for your good work and helpfulness, and apologies for being so
slow.
