Ok, not a bug in cryptsetup-initramfs.

Let's reassign to initramfs-tools-core as a bug or feature request? 
(Depending on how one wanted to look at it.)

Would that be appropriate?

And also forward to upstream, which has its issue tracker hosted at 
launchpad initramfs-tools?
