I agree, and the tarball is in the tarballs directory of the svn
repository. We already have a repackaged tarball due to license reasons
for some unimportant files that upstream includes.

In addition, the upstream files are in trunk, to make it easy to just
check out the trunk and start working without having to extract the
tarball first.
