Bug#354413: Status of libdb version?

It has been a while since this issue has been visited.  Does anyone know
if any progress has been made upstream with respect to supporting a
newer version of libdb.  I have a feeling that as we approach the
release of Lenny, we will feel increasing pressure to abandon libdb4.2
so that it can be removed from Debian.
