I wanted to add this pointer to #153915:

The message was posted to #379810, which was merged with #153915.
However, if you only look at #153915 (the default unless have merged
bugs repeated) you will not see it.

I initially forwarded it to upstream, but I have not seen any response
to it there.  Perhaps someone who is a little more experienced with
memory debugging can take a look at this and see if it gets us anything.
