Sorry, no. The crypt patches that have been floating around are
problematic in one way or the other, and upstream has not yet released a
version with crypt support.
So I'm afraid you'll have to rebuild the package for lenny, too.
However, it should be fairly easy to make a patch that you can put in
debian/patches, adjust debian/patches/00list and then build. Every time
we release a new version, you can just repeat those steps and as long as
the patch applies, you'll be good to go.
It would be great if someone could work with upstream to ensure that
this functionality is available for those who need it.
