The patch got accepted in the Cyrus SASL CVS:

They are considering a release soon as well. So we should be able to 
close this by switching to upstream of 2.1.23 soon hopefully.

The new package should then also depend on the newer libldap-2.4-2 to 
solve #405495 (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=405495) 
I guess.
