Another four and a half days went by, and without the nsswitch.conf
workaround, things are about the same:

USER PID %CPU %MEM VSZ RSS TTY STAT START TIME COMMAND
root 29435 0.0 2.7 73748 5260 ? S May22 0:22
/usr/sbin/saslauthd -a pam

It's even a little smaller than the last time, I think because during
the weekend it had less usage. But clearly, there was no advantage.

I you want me to try any other thing, or need more data about the
setup. Don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks, Tincho.
