Bug#653007: sasl2-bin fails to create "sasl" group which it apparently needs

Package: sasl2-bin
Version: 2.1.23.dfsg1-7

I installed this package (just because I wanted saslauthd) and it
failed to configure due to me not having a sasl group:

Setting up sasl2-bin (2.1.23.dfsg1-7) ...
Configuring sasl2-bin
---------------------
[etc.]
Backup file name for /etc/sasldb2: /var/backups/sasldb2.bak


install: invalid group `sasl'
dpkg: error processing sasl2-bin (--install):
 subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit
 status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
 sasl2-bin
DPKG ERROR
