Hi,
First of all, before enabling a new architecture, we want to make sure
upstream fully supports it. We already have issues on ppc because of
maintenance issues, and we do not want to create further problems for
ourselves down the road.
Secondly, what is the actual use case for DPDK on such CPUs? Is there
actually any hardware that can run on a loong64 CPU with any of the
hardware driver libraries that your patch enables?
DPDK is used for software-based high performance network backplanes, so
unless these CPUs have very high performance, comparable to x86_64, it
seems strange to want to enable these libraries. What software would
actually use it? Is there anything in Debian that is ready to use dpdk
on loong64?
