Hi,

these steps, while e17 is in Illume mode and xterm is not installed,
cause a SEGV:

$ cat > /root/.local/share/applications/xterm.desktop
[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Type=Application
Name=XTerm
GenericName=Terminal
Comment=Run commands in a shell
Exec=xterm
Icon=xterm.png
StartupWMClass=XTerm
Categories=Utility;TerminalEmulator;

wait for the icon to appear

$ rm /root/.local/share/applications/xterm.desktop

SEGV.

I hope you can reproduce it as well.
