Hi there!
Cc:ing the pkg-e-devel@ mailing list: I am not sure where all these
stuff should be discusses, they are both important for pkg-e-devel@ as
well as pkg-fso-maint@, but I discovered them because of FSO packages.
Disclaimer: this is not a rant and I will express only considerations
about the current situation, not personal opinions on the software.
Zhone is actually not installable:
=====
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
zhone: Depends: python-edbus but it is not going to be installed
Depends: python-ecore but it is not going to be installed
Depends: python-edje but it is not going to be installed
Depends: python-evas but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libevas-engines (>= 0.9.9.050+svn20090204) but it is
=====
This because of the following two reasons.
1) the new snasphot for E17 libraries uploaded last week-end (mostly
version 0.9.9.060-1) is not yet available for armel.
Because these are vital libraries for FSO software, I was thinking
about building the corresponding packages with cowbuilder on my FR,
could it be useful? At least this will speed up the process, since
we do not need to wait for the experimental autobuilders.
2) python-* E17 packages are outdated on Debian and the one in the
pkg-fso repository are incompatible with the new libraries:
- python-edbus
not in Debian yet, available in pkg-fso, Jan Lüebbe started the
packaging work at
http://git.debian.org/?p=pkg-e/proto/python-efl/python-edbus.git;a=summary
- pytyon-ecore
http://bugs.debian.org/528339
- python-edje
http://bugs.debian.org/528339
- python-evas
version 0.2.1-2 in Debian, while still installable on amd64, FTBFS
with the new libevas-* libraries
http://bugs.debian.org/508697
I do not know how I could help here, since I have already too much work
(both Debian and not). However, given that AFAIK Zhone is the only
working phone application for fso-frameworkd, we must fix it ASAP.
Comments and/or suggestions?
Thx, bye,
Gismo / Luca
