Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
     Upgrading Debian/testing installation, not the update to v17.6 of E, some
upgrade days later
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
     apt-get -u dist-upgrade
   * What was the outcome of this action?
     GDM3 stopped working and mouse pointer within E17 not shown anymore; mouse
pointer works within GNOME
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
     Working mouse pointer within E17

could you please reply how I can check why the mouse pointer within E17 is not
shown anymore?

I now have a working mouse pointer within a GNOME session. GDM3 stopped working
too.
