[Pkg-electronics-devel] Getting gEDA 1.8.x into testing

Hi Debian people,

I'm rather surprised (and a little concerned) at the fact that Debian
Testing still has geda-gaf 1.6.x.  As far as I understood it, packages
should move from unstable->testing in about 10 days, not more than 10
months.

What gives?

Is there anything that upstream can do to facilitate getting a non-archaic
version of geda-gaf into Debian?
