I originally volunteered to package it, but honestly just haven't had
time to touch it recently.

I think it'd be great to have both in Debian for the next stable release
cycle.  Things in this space move slowly, and I don't think abandoning
mainline in favor of *just* having the fork packaged is a good plan
right now.

If you're going to work on it this weekend, feel free to poke me on IRC,
I can probably make some time here and there to help.
