Contacting someone to get myself added was on my TODO list which I
haven't done before because I didn't have anything ready anyway. So, you
weren't late on anything.

As for the git repo, the old one has contains whole gcc releases (which
isn't needed anymore) and has a whole set of upstream branches
combining… I think I'll just start over with a standard git-buildpackage
workflow.

Current status: I've been working on this package on and off and it's
coming together. There's lots of components and figuring out how they
work together in order to devise a good filesystem tree took some time.
I will also create a way to automatically compile the standard VHDL
libraries in postinst like e.g. Python packages do so there's a way to
handle additional libraries (upstream's way is to provide shell scripts
for many such libraries and let the user install/compile them manually
as needed).
