Hello Carsten and Seth,

I reproduced the issue in a VM with buster 32 bit, then applied the
patch, rebuilt kicad and installed the kicad_5.0.0+dfsg1-1_i386.deb
file.  Both pcbnew and eeschema run fine and reach their main window.
