ah, thanks for the pointing. I'm not following the development of KiCad 
in these specific parts that regularly so I haven't seen this change by 
myself. And most users are not using mips* hardware. :-)

For now I'm feeling comfortable to stay with clang as compiler suite for 
unstable/testing and buster. We gain nothing if we switch back to gcc.

I've started a test build on a mips64el porter box and it looks good so 
far. But I'll wait until the release of 5.1.6 before pushing a new 
version to the archive. Should be not that far away.
