I've pushed the version 2.0 upstream commits I still had locally. This
includes a different upstream commit than you made, since I removed some
other tests that had no clear licensing in the dfsg repack. That makes
your branch not directly mergeable, but I will cherry pick changes from
it instead.

I may still make an initial 2.0 release without the library package so I
can get the compiler stuff out of the way and see if it works without
the package waiting in NEW for review.
