Package: src:ghdl
Version: 5.1.1+dfsg-1
Severity: seriuos

The new upstream source fail to autobuild on ppc64el and ppc64, which block the
package from migrating to testing. I have done test builds on both
ppc64el and ppc64, and on both these the self testing fail as seen in
<URL: https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=ghdl&arch=ppc64el&ver=5.1.1%2Bdfsg-2&stamp=1776598438&raw=0 > and
<URL: https://buildd.debian.org/status/fetch.php?pkg=ghdl&arch=ppc64&ver=5.1.1%2Bdfsg-2&stamp=1776600339&raw=0 >,
with a "error: bound check failure at" for various VHDL source
locations.

This make me suspect the issue is with any non-x86 and non-arm
architecture. I notice Ubuntu changed the Architecture list in
debian/control to any for the previous version, and according to
<URL: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ghdl/5.0.1+dfsg-1ubuntu1 > it
built on amd64, arm64, armhf, ppc64el and s390x but not riscv64. Ubuntu
have not yet tried to build the 5.1.1 release.

I had a look at the source to see if I could track down the problem, but
have no idea where to start and do not know the programming language of
a lot of the code, so it is going to take more time than I have
available to spend on ghdl, so waiting for me to fix it is not going to
solve the problem.

I suggest to drop ppc64el and ppc64 binary packages from unstable until
someone have time to port ghdl to powerpc architectures again, to allow
the package to migrate to testing once other issues are fixed.
