Hi,

I just experienced the same behaviour for couchdb 0.10.0-0ubuntu3.
I can not stop couchdb:

/etc/init.d/couchdb stop
* Stopping database server couchdb [ OK ]

/etc/init.d/couchdb status
Apache CouchDB is not running.

curl http://127.0.0.1:5984
{"couchdb":"Welcome","version":"0.10.0"}
