Hello,
I've already noticed this some time ago, fixed our local manpages and
provided a fix for upstream. According to
ftp://ftp.exim.org/pub/exim/ChangeLogs/ChangeLog-4.40 it was accepted:
24. Arranged for all hyphens in the exim.8 source to be escaped with
    backslashes.

You are talking about "man pages" (i.e. plural) but I tried to fix
this problem everywhere but in exim.8 in version 4.34-3. (Hidden as
"escape some dashes in manpages" in debian/changelog). - If there are
still dashes that need to be escaped, please tell me which and where.
