depends on whether you mean a forward (for checking the recipient) or
a reverse callout (for checking the sender). We are talking about
sender verification here.

verify = sender in a RCPT ACL will refuse to accept a recipient if the
sender's domain doesn't resolve. verify = sender/callout in a RCPT ACL
will refuse to accept a recipient if a bounce to the sender would be
rejected by the sender's MX.

I _think_ that the same clauses in a DATA ACL would refuse the entire
message.

In both cases, the local exam has never taken responsibility for the
message and thus doesn't send a DSN.
