At section 6.16 there is example:

  In the following example, the instance name is "localuser", and it is
  followed by three options settings:

     localuser:
       driver = accept
       check_local_user
       transport = local_delivery

However exim4 uses local_user: instance name in file
router/900_exim4-config_local_user

    local_user:
      debug_print = "R: local_user for $local_part@$domain"
      driver = accept
      ...


It would be better if the info used same names as in default
configuration

They do ...

zgrep -A2 localuser /usr/share/doc/exim4-base/examples/example.conf.gz
localuser:
  driver = accept
  check_local_user

... but obviously the Debian default configuration and upstream's
default configuration differ, as they need to support different
needs.

I agree that it is not optimal to use a /slightly/ different way of
writing in Debian, but the imnsho they pain in switching Debian's
writing is worse.
