Package: exim4
Version: 4.50-4

Whenever I run /usr/sbin/sendmail (often through and MUA), it takes
around 6-8 seconds to run. Even running /usr/sbin/sendmail as a plain
command takes a similar length of time. However, /usr/sbin/sendmail
--version complained very quickly (< .5 seconds) that --version was an
unrecognised option.

Any ideas?

   Julian

Yes, that was it. Introduced an IPv6 record for my localhost name and
it's now really fast. Thanks (and closing bug report).

True. The significance, though, was that it was fast, so the slow
thing was something to do with when exim was working to send mail,
rather than a startup issue.
