I have forwarded this upstream, and upstream will change the defaults
in the next version. Since it is our policy not to explicitly set
configuration options to their default, and I would hate to set the
option now and then change it back later, I won't change the
configuration now but rather wait for the next upstream version to be
available which will then close the bug.
