In my unstable chroot, this leads to a relocation error message:

$ sudo env LD_PRELOAD=/lib/libpthread.so.0  /usr/sbin/exim4 -bd -q30m
/usr/sbin/exim4: relocation error: /lib/libpthread.so.0: symbol _h_errno, version GLIBC_2.0 not defined in file libc.so.6 with link time reference
