Actually, the original idea of real-, which was introduced by the exim
maintainers long before I joined Debian, was to have a possibility to
bypass _all_ special routing techniques, which makes real- need to be
first in the router chain.
I am not sure whether having real- is still a good idea, whether it
should stay around, whether it should be mor restricted.

I bet there are some installations out there that rely on this behavior.
