I understand, this is really a though case.

My way to view things is that the user made a kind of "error" by
calling "dpkg-reconfigure <wrong_package>" even if (s)he did so quite
logically and without knowing what's special in the exim4 packages.

And the most important point is to have him|her notice this and *read*
the displayed note.

But, I fully understand that we're indeed on a steep line...:)
