I think it is a bug, but I am kind of afraid of changing the logic of
the config script. I have broken it in the past more than once.

Would it be acceptable to zero out inapplicable values when the
delivery type is changed? Or just to have update-exim4.conf ignore
inapplicable values?

I think I'm going to ask my colleagues on pkg-exim4-devel.
