The README.Debian.gz is originally written in Docbook; the Docbook
Sources are included in the Debian source package and can be
downloaded from
http://svn.debian.org/viewsvn/pkg-exim4/exim/trunk/debian/README.Debian.xml
We also ship a HTML rendered version of the file which can be nicely
converted to PDF by printing from a browser to a PDF file.
As far as I know, there is a toolchain available to convert Docbook to
LaTeX or even directly to PDF. I therefore fear that your work was
unnecessary and apologize for the time you may have wasted.
Greetings
Marc, apologizing for the long time from your original mail to this
answer
